The Dian’s exterior gleams with Art Deco-inflected angles and geometry, rises to its gemstone-inspired amenity level, and harmonizes with a lobby-level garden and the quiet warmth of its residences. Here, building architecture and interior design speak the same distinct language. That coherence in vision is no coincidence, as it is the product of a team that believes every detail deserves intention.
Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects, The Dian’s façade pays homage to New York’s Art Deco legacy through layered brick, limestone, and granite detailing, while cast-stone capitals, a modern crown, and a grand corbeled granite portal at the entrance give the building a confident presence that bridges historical craft and contemporary design.
Inside, 160 rental residences are designed around comfort, light, and livability, with expansive windows and energy-efficient assemblies reinforcing modern performance standards. A substantial suite of indoor and outdoor amenities supports a range of lifestyles, from relaxation and wellness to social gathering. Throughout, architecture and interior design work in close harmony, creating a cohesive experience where the richness of the exterior carries inward and the atmosphere shifts gracefully toward something quieter, more intimate, and unmistakably residential.
Makers Collective developed The Dian’s interiors in close dialogue with Ismael Leyva’s Art Deco-influenced architecture, drawing from the building’s geometry, materiality, and tonal palette to create a cohesive design language from lobby to rooftop. At the lower levels, a restrained palette of black, grey, and ivory is layered with warm wood and subtle tonal variation, carrying through the residential corridors, cellar-level wellness spaces, and a double-height lobby designed for depth, balance, and quiet refinement.
At the 22nd floor, that restraint gives way to something more expressive. Inspired by the relationship between Art Deco design and gemstone geometry, the amenity level unfolds as a series of immersive, color-driven environments—Amber, Citrine, Carnelian, Topaz, Ruby, and Emerald—each with its own palette and mood. Throughout the building, recurring architectural elements like segmental arches and framed portals reinforce a consistent rhythm, shaping movement between spaces and creating a quiet sense of discovery at every threshold.
